Game vs. Bandits 5/31/2005 (W 12-8)

All right, what a game! All elements were there: pitching, defense (except for some brief moments), and hitting.

Kudos to:

Jackie, game ball, had a hit and two runs batted in and continues to show great hustle.

Jeannine, scored two runs and threw out yet another runner at first base from right field!

Brittany R., had two hits and two runs batted in.

Brittany W., had two hits and two runs batted in.

Megan S., had two hits.

Jessica, had two hits, scored two runs, and only allowed one hit in three innings pitched.

Julia, allowed only two hits in four innings pitched.

A great effort by the entire team. Let's keep the momentum going in the playoffs!

Game vs. Methacton Green 5/26/2005 (L 16-12)

Even though we lost this game, we hit well and despite being shorthanded (yet again) actually lead most of the game. Most of the hits that beat us occured when we only had two outfielders.

Kudos to:

Maggie, game ball, for playing in a frilly shirt and no socks when she wasn't expecting to play. She also had a hit and drove in a run.

Julia, continues her hot hitting with two hits.

Bridgette, had two hits.

Nothing to be ashamed of in this one.

Game vs. Thunder 5/24/2005 (T 6-6)

Well, we didn't get the result we would have preferred (a win), but we did not lose, either. This was an exciting, close game that we (for the most part) played well in.

Kudos to:

Julia, drove in two runs and pitched a complete game.

Megan S., two hits and three runs batted in.

Jeannine, had two RBI's.

Jenny Rose, also had two RBI.

Great effort in this game, girls.

Game vs. Bandits 5/21/2005 (W 12-7)

What can we say, a great game! After a slow start, everything was there: pitching, hitting, and especially defense.
Kudos to:

Brittany W., game ball for two solid hits, three runs batted in, and solid defense at first base (all coming back from an injury).

Julia, who continue to wield a hot bat, three hits, two doubles, and three runs batted in.

Brittany R., two hits (both doubles), three runs batted in, and three runs scored.

Jess, pitched a great game, had two hits, and scored three runs.

Megan M., was on base all four times at bat and scored three runs.

Jeannine, made an excellent catch on a sinking line drive and very nearly doubled the runner off of first base.

Maggie, made a great back-handed catch in the outfield.

Nicole, last but not least, played even though she had a game right before this, so that we could field a full team.

We are proud of you all for this game. Let's see if we can keep up this kind of play through our remaining games.

Game vs. Norristown 5/17/2005 (L 12-1)

We played against an excellent team in this game. Despite that facts that we were ten-runned and were playing short-handed, I thought we played fairly well. The game was not as bad as the score would indicate, we just didn't hit in this game. That will happen sometimes.
Kudos to:

Megan Murphy, game ball, hit a triple and scored our only run.

Megan Stewart, had an unassisted double play in the field.

Don't sweat this game, girls. It wasn't all that bad!

Game vs. Bandits 5/14/2005 (L 13-10)

YATL (Yet Another Tough Loss). Once again, we had troubles in the later innings. The team fought hard, though, to come from an early deficit in the game and even took the lead.
Kudos to:

Megan Murphy, game ball, for two hits and consistent catching.

Julia, had two hits and scored three runs..

Jeannine, had two hits, including a triple.

Jess, pitched a great game in the heat.

Tough game. We'll find a way to beat this team, we have two more chances.

Game vs. Juggernaut 5/10/2005 (W 20-3)

The team really had it all together for this game -- pitching, defense, hitting -- everything was clicking. A great performance by the team!!!
Kudos (from memory) to:

Jackie, game ball for a solid hit and remembering outfield back up.

Julia, pitched an awesome game: only three hits, four walks, and only one ball hit out of the infield. She also had two hits.

Megan Stewart, continues to hit well, had two doubles and five (!) runs batted in.

Jeannine, threw a runner out at home plate and executed a perfect drag bunt.

Megan Murphy, had three walks.

Jen Schratz, returned to action after an injury and played great at first base.

Brittany Williams, showed up to support the team even though she can't play.

The entire team, for playing great defense.

Great game, girls, we're proud of you. Let's keep it going for the next game.

Practice 5/7 Summary

Thanks to Jackie, Jeannine, and Julia for coming to practice on Saturday.
For the rest of you, here is what was discussed and worked on during practice:

Communication -- helping each other out with where the ball is and what base to throw it to.

Watching the ball into the glove in the field.

Watching the ball hit the bat.
